Job Description: Area Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overseeing sales activities within a defined geographic area. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, building relationships with clients, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies. The ASM serves as a bridge between the Regional Sales Manager and the on-ground sales team, ensuring smooth operations and consistent performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Management
- Develop and execute sales plans to meet or exceed the area’s revenue goals.
- Drive the promotion and sale of pathology lab services and diagnostic solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the healthcare and diagnostics sector.
- Team Supervision
- Manage and guide the on-ground sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective measures when needed.
- Market Development
- Build strong relationships with key clients, including hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competition, and potential opportunities.
- Represent the company in local trade events and customer meetings to promote services.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales data and forecasts to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery to clients.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing strategies, and regulatory requirements.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients within the area, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and support.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in the healthcare, diagnostics, or pathology lab sector.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Experience in team management is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
- Other:
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
- Knowledge of pathology lab tests and diagnostic services.
