Job Description: Area Sales Manager

Position Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overseeing sales activities within a defined geographic area. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, building relationships with clients, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies. The ASM serves as a bridge between the Regional Sales Manager and the on-ground sales team, ensuring smooth operations and consistent performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Management
    • Develop and execute sales plans to meet or exceed the area’s revenue goals.
    • Drive the promotion and sale of pathology lab services and diagnostic solutions.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the healthcare and diagnostics sector.
  2. Team Supervision
    • Manage and guide the on-ground sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
    • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective measures when needed.
  3. Market Development
    • Build strong relationships with key clients, including hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competition, and potential opportunities.
    • Represent the company in local trade events and customer meetings to promote services.
  4. Operational Excellence
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales data and forecasts to the Regional Sales Manager.
    • Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery to clients.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing strategies, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Customer Relationship Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients within the area, addressing their needs and concerns.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and support.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in the healthcare, diagnostics, or pathology lab sector.
    • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
    • Experience in team management is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
  • Other:
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
    • Knowledge of pathology lab tests and diagnostic services.
