Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Accountant to manage financial records and reporting for an import-based company. The role involves handling import purchase entries, preparing cost sheets, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and assisting in audits. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of import-export accounting processes and the ability to manage both domestic and international financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost sheets for imported goods, including tariffs, duties, logistics, and exchange rate adjustments.
• Record import purchase entries and maintain accurate books of accounts.
• Handle day-to-day accounting transactions including sales, purchase, and bank entries.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Generate debtors report and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Maintain and reconcile stock reports.
• Monitor and report on import-export financial tracking, ensuring proper documentation for cross-border transactions.
• Support management with financial insights for decision-making related to imports and exports.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience in import-export accounting or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of VAT filing and compliance.
• Good understanding of tariffs, duties, and foreign exchange transactions.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.
