The IT Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for hardware, software, and networking systems. This role ensures the smooth functioning of the company’s IT infrastructure, supports clients with technical issues, and coordinates with the technical team to resolve network and communication-related problems promptly.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first-line support for all hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve IT problems in person, via phone, email, or remote access.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and network devices.
2. Network & Communication Systems Support
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, and internet connectivity.
- Assist in configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VoIP systems.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of network communication tools and devices.
3. Maintenance & Upgrades
- Regularly update software, antivirus programs, and system patches.
- Ensure proper backup and recovery processes are in place.
- Perform preventive maintenance on IT and network equipment.
4. Client & Internal Support
- Provide technical assistance to clients regarding network and communication systems.
- Train staff and customers on the proper use of hardware, software, and network tools.
- Maintain service logs, documentation, and technical manuals.
5. Security & Compliance
- Monitor IT security systems and respond to potential threats.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and data protection regulations.
- Implement and follow cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support or networking roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in network setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with switches, routers, firewalls, and VoIP systems.
- Understanding of IT security best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good time management and multitasking skills.
